HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
In general, a private yacht charter will cost about the same
as a cruise or vacation destination resort. Just as hotels and
resorts vary, the selection of yachts range from standard to
ultra-plush. Typical pricing for a nice Sailing Yacht is about
$1250 to $2000 per person per week; all inclusive with meals,
beverages, and bar. Plan on about $2000 to $5000+
per person per week for a Motor Yacht, though we can also offer some of the
worlds most glamorous motor yachts that could well double that
budget. Rates vary by season, size of the yacht and cruising area. Peak
season in the Caribbean is December through April.
WHAT IS THE BEST DESTINATION
TO CHARTER A YACHT?
The Caribbean is an outstanding destination as it offers warm,
clear water and unsurpassed beaches, ideal climate year round,
and excellent water sports such as diving, snorkeling, sea kayaking,
windsurfing and of course, sailing! The Out Islands of the Bahamas are
remote and unspoiled with World Class fishing and diving! Exploring the
culture and history of the Mediterranean is a popular summer destination.
And, who hasn't dreamed of visiting the exotic ports of Tahiti and French
Polynesia! Don't really have a destination in mind? We are at your service
to determine what area of the world will offer you the Perfect Escape from
the ordinary vacation! Just let us know what you are dreaming of, when you
can go, and we will make that Dream a Reality!
ISN'T A YACHT VACATION
JUST LIKE A CRUISE SHIP?
The only similarity is that both vessels are on the water! On
a cruise ship REAL personal attention is impossible. Cruising
with family and a few friends on a private yacht is completely
individualized to YOUR wishes. YOU can set the yachts itinerary
with the captain and YOU can plan the menus with the chef. Do you see an
island that looks like a great sport and want to stop there? No problem,
simply tell the skipper! Try that on a cruise ship! If
you want to stay over an extra day or two in a particular port
or have dinner an hour later-NO PROBLEM!
WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES
ARE OFFERED ON BOARD?
Feel like water-skiing? How about windsurfing? The mate happens
to be a great instructor. Wonder if the fish are biting today?
Have you ever wanted to take an introductory scuba diving course
and never had the time? Just want to soak up the sun on the top
deck or on the beautiful white sand beach with a yummy rum punch
in your hand? Get the picture?
WHAT KIND OF MEALS
CAN WE EXPECT?
Whatever you want! We provide all the tools needed to plan a customized menu
directly with the
yacht's chef who will create meal after meal
that will please you and all your guests. Special dietary restrictions? No
problem. Are you planning a special celebration...such as a birthday or
anniversary? Just leave it to us! The charter yachts are
fully outfitted with fine table ware and service is per YOUR
request--as casual or formal as you would like. Most charter chefs are
trained in the culinary arts. They generally focus on the freshest local
fare, and delight in preparing international cuisine developed from their
world travels!
WHAT KIND OF CLOTHES
DO WE TAKE?
Generally speaking, cruising on a private charter yacht is a
time to relax; casual, comfortable clothing, several bathing
suits, sunglasses and beach cover-ups are the uniform of the day. If you feel like dressing
up for dinner or if you are cruising in an area with excellent
restaurants ashore, you might want to bring along a dressier
outfit or two.
OK, I'M READY TO CHARTER, WHAT
NEXT?
Once you have specific dates we will
forward a charter agreement and invoice outlining all the details of your
charter and payment schedule. If planning well in advance (recommended for
holidays and special events) a 25 % deposit is required to guarantee your
charter. Six months prior to arrival another 25% deposit is collected, with
the balance due about 45 days prior to your boarding. Some yachts will
accept this balance at boarding by cash or traveler's checks, but not all.
Charter deposits are typically held in an independently administered Escrow
Account until approximately 3 to 10 days prior to your charter in order for
the yacht to provision and re-position for your arrival. Securing your funds
is of Prime Importance at Nicely-Dunn Yacht Charters. (Direct bookings with
yachts on the internet do not promise security of your deposit.)
WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL?
Life is full of surprises, and that is why we offer protection
against the unexpected! Once you confirm your charter with a deposit, the yacht
has reserved that week for you exclusively. Should you or a family member become
ill or should unexpected events force you to cancel your holiday, the yacht may
not be able to rebook your charter dates. While charter fees are typically
non-refundable, we will make every effort to reschedule your
charter if at all possible. Flights are
generally non-refundable as well as hotel reservations
cancelled on short notice, so be sure you purchase Trip Cancellation
Insurance to cover all travel deposits that could result in a forfeiture. We recommend this important
coverage to all charterers, and for those traveling during Hurricane Season, as
this can be critical. View
